Los Poblanos is proud to present a dining series like no other. Executive Chef Jonathan Perno, Sommelier Dylan Storment and the award-winning culinary team at Los Poblanos have carefully curated an entire year of Rio Grande Valley Cuisine dinner programming to highlight the spirit and artistry of the season. This series will also pay homage to our local ranchers, farmers, vintners, brewers and distillers who share in our culinary philosophy and understand that flavors and ingredients are as important as the environment and terroir they originate from.
Continuing our ongoing partnership with the award-winning luxury hotel, Hotel Emma in San Antonio, our own Executive Chef Jonathan Perno is excited to welcome back their Culinary Director and his good friend, Chef John Brand. The parallels between Los Poblanos and Hotel Emma aren’t simply a shared commitment to historic preservation and sustainability. With aligning culinary philosophies and kitchen practices, the two are thrilled to be able to put their heads together for our next installment in the Los Poblanos Dining Series. This year, instead of planning a menu in advance, the Chefs will create an organic, artistic, culinary collaboration in the days leading up to the event. Using ingredients from both regions and combining years of unique experiences, they are excited to pool their resources to create a culinary masterpiece that promises to be unforgettable. Each course will be expertly paired with wines from our cellar by our Sommelier, Dylan Storment and introduced and thoughtfully explained by the Chefs.
A two-part dining series, Chef Perno will travel to Texas in October, partnering with Chef Brand on a dining event at his restaurant, Supper. In November, we will welcome Chef Brand to Los Poblanos for a one-of-a-kind dining event. On Saturday, November 9, don't miss a Cooking Demonstration - a unique opportunity, drop by and meet these talented Chefs, learn more about their process and sample a bite or two. Then on Sunday, join us during this magnificent season for Sunday Supper at Los Poblanos, a nod to the Sunday Supper series at Hotel Emma.
A stunning adaptive reuse project, San Antonio’s Hotel Emma is located in the historic Pearl Brewery building. Los Poblanos Executive Director Matthew Rembe says “We feel very connected to Hotel Emma through our shared commitment to historic preservation, sustainability and great food.” Once Chef Brand and Chef Perno became acquainted, the culinary collaboration naturally took off. And the partnership doesn’t stop there - last fall, Hotel Emma began offering Los Poblanos artisan lavender products in all its guest rooms. Los Poblanos is thrilled to continue the ongoing partnership with Hotel Emma and celebrating with events centering around incredible food prepared with love.
