Come and spend an afternoon with Theresa D. Varela, a professional calligrapher, hand lettering artist and graphic designer where we will dive into the world of script lettering! This is the perfect way to "test the waters" and learn calligraphy, without a dip pen and nib. We will use the Pentel Touch Sign Pen to execute the same type of thick and thin strokes that a split nib achieves and create Script Lettering Magic.
In this 3 hour workshop you will learn:
- Review of basic script lettering and their letter forms
- Adding flourishes and details to make your script lettering come to life!
- Explore shading, color and balance to achieve pleasing designs
- Ideas for using script lettering on cards, correspondence and your home decor.
All Supplies Are Included.
You will receive practice sheets, design exemplars as well as alphabet styles and a list of resources for supplies and further study. Carefully curated supplies include two Pentel Sign Touch Pens (black and another color), Tracing Paper, Rhodia paper, plus more.
This is another building block you can use for the further study of calligraphy.
